Can I set a target file size?
Yes. CODAC makes bounded encoding attempts and reports whether the target was reached. It does not guarantee a target that the selected format and image cannot achieve.

Results depend on the source image, browser capabilities and selected settings. CODAC measures generated output files and verifies that they can be read. Image re-encoding may change metadata, color handling or image quality. Keep your original files if you need their original metadata or exact pixel data.

Lossy JPEG and WebP output can reduce detail. PNG output is lossless but browser re-encoding may not make every PNG smaller. Preview and compare before downloading.
Transparency is preserved when the output format supports it, such as PNG or WebP. JPEG requires a solid background.
